Hello again!

What have we been up to?

Well I'm pregnant with another girl due in early April for starters.... :)

Me and Marlow right before her biggest tantrum ever.  This was our holiday photos.  In this said tantrum dirt was kicked up into the air and daddy was kicked repeatedly.

Laughing with daddy at a pumpkin patch.  She didn't want to get close or touch a pumpkin because a recent rain brought knats and she wouldn't get near all the "bugs!!"

Taking a break at another pumpkin patch... no knats :)

Running from us

Peek a boo at the orchards

Setting up Halloween decorations

Showing me her stink face.

My birthday where something like 15 people shared the largest pizza ever!!

Marlow and daddy making mommy birthday pudding treats.

Happy Birthday to me :)

Grocery shopping :)

Park playdates.  She's so helpful, she doesn't let mommy forget anything!  She's trying help me put my lens cap on.

Pumpkin Patch

She was Dorothy for Halloween

Her favorite books these days are Goodnight Gorilla, How do Dinosaurs Eat?, and If you take a Mouse to School.

She's a neat freak like her daddy and puts everything back in it's place.

She knows an egret from a seagull and loves to point out chinchillas and parakeets. :)

She glides around the carpet after watching figure skating to show me how well she can spin and jump.

She's learning numbers and abc's very well.

Favorite songs are Shake my Hands up High and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Sorry for the photo dump, life is crazy!!!

Breath of Fresh Air

I wonder where Marlow gets it... she LOVES being outside!!

I've taken a great interest in finding new "chores" for her to do around the house.  Each morning she helps mommy by watering all the plants and herbs... and herself of course.  She takes great pride in putting her dishes in the sink, throwing away her trash, pushing in her chair after a meal.  She also loves to help with laundry loading and folding.  I take great pleasure in watching her wipe her mouth clean and then wipe her feeding area.  It's adorable!!  At bath time she knows where her towels are and grabs them on her run over to the big girl tub.

When I say run, I mean RUN... the girl has picked up speed lately.  I love watching her turn corners and try to hit the breaks :)

READY?

SET.

GO!

She's been especially proud to climb up on my raised step I use for exercise with no hands and jump down on a 1, 2, 3 count with no hands.  She doesn't quite pronounce "one, two, three" but she thinks she's saying it.

I've been trying to ask her how old she is and she's finally getting down her response of "ONE!"

She favorite stories lately has been Where's Mommy, and Llama Llama Red Pajama.

Her favorite song is my rendition of something called "You and Me Makes We."  She points to you on the we part and then herself on the me... she LOVES that song!

And to just melt my heart competely.... when asked, "How much do you love me?" she stretches her sweet little arms as far as they can while showing how much she working at it, and says, "Much!"... as in... "this much."

Oh my baby girl is getting to full blown status.  I even tried testing the potty training waters :/

17.5 months and counting...

I can't believe how fast she's growing!!

Favorite books: Shake a Leg, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Head to Toe
She loves making all her animal sounds... especially "meow", "moo", "quack quack", "roar"

Her latest talents include raising her shoulders like a buffalo, stomping like an elephant, clapping like a seal and my ultimate favorite... make a muscle!

She's a hoot.

My latest strategies to redirect - Coloring!  Which includes me taping large amounts of paper to the counter top.  Finger Painting! - Oh so messy...but we've mastered the clean up. Chalk drawing! - Thanks goodness for the shaded patieo and of course water!  Lately when I go to get her from her crib, she clasps her hands together and tries to wave them around like a fish.  This means she wants to swim.  Sadly our last swim class is next week.  She really did love it.  I can't believe how fast the summer is coming to an end.  I guess you could say this was her first true summer :).  I'm so glad she got to see the beach this summer too.

Marlow finally moved into the big girl bathtub this month and she couldn't be more excited for bath time.  In our defense, we have a very large oversized sink.  We finally gave up the sink when there began to be more water on the floor instead of the sink :(.  My favorite part of the bath is wrapping her up in a hooded towel and then attempting to chase her down while singing The Imperial March.  She looks like a little Darth Vader with a towel cape behind her.

Let's see if I can remember some words she's saying now...  she'll say just about anything you tell her.  There's no way I can remember all of them but here are some fun or new ones.

"Amen!"

"Mama"
"Dada"
"Nana"
"PoPo"
"Bampa"
"MehMeh"
"Auuud" Which is for Audrey
"Bell" For Bella
"Ta" Auntie Tammy

Usually she'll say her friends names like LiLi, Ad-um, Claire...

Funny words
"Uppa" (Up)
"Wok" (Work) sadly she knows this so well because she ALWAYS asks me where daddy is but then answers for me with "Wok".
"Chuk" (Chalk)
"Car"
"Uth-Oh" for some reason she uses this for open
"Wah Wah" (Water)
"Milk" - she just started saying this clearly

Greetings she uses
"Hi!" love this
"Adios"
"BYE!"
"Olah" (Hola)

More summer highlights...

Enjoying the patio

W
We've been having soo much fun out on the back patio.  Thank God for ceiling fans!!  Marlow loves to play in her baby pools and get a little chalk writing done.  She recently got some new shoes that are more tennis shoes-ish.  Whoa watch out... she's running now!

Swinging by the Park

The heat is relentless in South Texas... so we have to make it to the park in the wee early hours of the morning when it's still under 100 degrees.  Yea for jogging strollers!  We run over with Bella in tow... extra milk and snacks packed and LOTS of sunscreen.  It's worth it!  Even if we're still in our pajamas some mornings.

What your favorite yoga pose says about you

Tree pose, back bends, hip openers, forward bends, twists, head stand, hand stand or corpse pose... which would you say is your favorite?

I'm loving my early morning routines...waaay before Marlow wakes up. I grab my mat, some water and the baby monitor and head out to the patio. The fresh air is so crisp and clean. Some days I'm lucky for a breeze. Either way it never really matters. For an hour I get to enjoy "me" time with morning yoga. It's tremendously rewarding to open up your heart, body and mind every morning. Things are changing... my mind is clear, I laugh at myself when I fall at a really tough pose, I actually look forward to getting up in the morning and I feel amazing after.

So what does your favorite yoga pose say about you? I love balancing on one leg, twists, hip openers and back bends. I hate forward bends.

Forward Bends… You prefer to keep your own counsel like a smart ostrich. At those times when life gets overstimulating—too many choices and too much responsibility—forward bends seduce you with the sweet serenity of folding inward and retreating from the world.

Tree - your grounded but like to test your limits.

Twists… You like to know who and what's going on around and behind you. You don't see things in black or white but are stimulated by multi-dimensional situations and are not afraid of tension. Twists are a natural draw for those who find nourishment and joy from connecting to people and places while staying firmly grounded.

Hip Openers… If you like to work your edge doing Butterfly, Pigeon, or Splits, then it conveys your ability to be in touch with deep feelings. You have to be cautious though. Your willingness to overextend yourself emotionally could make you vulnerable.

Backbends... backbends like Camel, Bow, Wheel, and Dancer are my faves. If you feel the same way, it means you have an open heart, a loving and tender nature, and excitement about the future. For shy types this is scary and a true victory. For extroverts, it's a natural as a sensuous morning stretch.

Balancing on One Leg… You are more curious about precision than perfection. For you, nothing is more fun than figuring out how to sway like a tree and still stay upright. You don't even mind falling over because you always get back up and try again, understanding that is truly the heart of practice anyway.

Inversions… You've learned to include fears in the mix of a total experience. Perhaps you've started to blur the distinction between upside down and right side up, allowing for a vibrant sense of nowness wherever or however you are. Creative types who see things from all sides are drawn to inversions and so are those of us who just like to shake things up!

Headstand... If you like to gain a new perspective, Headstand might be top on your list. This pose is all about building your intuition and learning how to maintain a sense of trust and control in scary or new situations.

Handstand... If you love to pop up on your hands every chance you get, it means that you love thrilling experiences and know how to find stability in chaotic situations. You like to see the world from different views.

Happy 4th of July

I just love holidays.... any excuse to get together with family and friends while the hubby actually has a day off is awesome!

We kicked off the weekend on Friday with an early morning playdate, followed by a nap and an afternoon playdate, followed by a surprise visit with Nana, oh and a surprise sprinkle!  It never ever rains here so it's a complete novelty at this point.   Yeah, that was just Friday.  Needless to say Marlow has been going to bed very early all weekend!

Spencer and Cat at Erin's House

Noah Bear!
Somehow Marlow found a tiny little piece of glass on the floor and stepped on it.  We broke a glass almost 3 months ago!!!  Despite the sweeping and mopping, she still injured her little foot.  Check out daddy's makeshift bandage :)

Marlow watching the rain.

Marlow got to visit with her cousin Noah.  It's crazy to me how they look sooo much alike!

It's great having her daddy home to see her do all her little behaviors.  We had a great time finger painting this weekend too.  Marlow was quite a little "arteest" as my husband says.  With her funky glasses and all!

And a little fun splash time out back!

This is how we brush our teeth

We sing a song...'this is how we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth'. She does a pretty good job too!
