Belly pics!

She's growing so fast. It's been such an enjoyable holiday getting her room together. Check out that serious belly. I can't believe it's going to get bigger! Baby girl has been tumbling and kicking away. She's definitely a mover and a shaker.

Tomorrow we start childbirthing classes. It's just all happening sooo fast. Nursery progress photos to come!

Putting together the crib...

Getting more work done on the nursery. Finally the crib came in and thanks to David, it's all put together. Bella was wondering what the heck we've been doing spending so much time in this room.

Thank goodness for a wonderful husband...

All he does is work on the "baby to do list".... and he's really outstanding at it. I'm so so thankful. I couldn't ask for a more caring father to be! Our little girl is already so spoiled. He's been busy priming the changing dresser and now I'm on the hunt to find just the right knobs.

Thinking about nursery elements

I'm still a little all over the place with nursery ideas. It's a bit frustrating...especially since I realize babies don't always spend a lot of time in their own room. This is just an idea of the smorgasbord going through my head!
I know the buttery vanilla color in the room is staying... and we've painted an accent wall a teal blue. This room gets soo much natural light so the colors look pretty light and bright. All the furniture will be white and I think some tables and accents will be mirrored. I really wanted to add a touch of capiz but it's not quite looking great all together. At least the colors are pretty much decided!

Belly pic 24w5d

Hello belly... she's really starting to pop out! You know, I have a great camera and I have no idea why I keep using my phone for photos?? I think I just never download photos from my other camera.

Baby is almost 2lbs and about 10inches.

Can't wait to share our nursery progress!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

We just got a new Christmas tree... thank you Craigs.list! It's bigger, better, and pre lit. Now the fun part is deciding what on earth to put on it. I was thinking of a simple silver and gold this year but I have zero gold items and I wasn't too interested in adding a lot to my Christmas collection. I think my husband will agree that I have wayyy too much stuff already. I really just need the gold to add some warmth to all the cool colored decor I already have. Maybe even silver and white with small pops of gold will work...

Some ideas...
Natural Materials - Dried flowers, twigs, pine cones, nests, and nuts

Metallic Spray Paint - Paint some of your old touch of silver or gold spray for that sparkle and embellishment

Silk Flowers - silk florals that coordinate with the color and style of the tree...evenly space them on the branches throughout the tree for added splashed of color.
Ribbons and Bows - A tree can look all dressed up if you tie bows to the branches or even dressing up ordinary ball ornaments by attaching gold bows to the tops of silver ornaments.

I'm going for something like this... I think

Our daughter is a feisty one!

Take a look as she shakes her fist at the tech pushing on my belly. She does not like to be disturbed when she is napping...noted. She then proceeded to wiggle her toes and grab on them. I could feel those baby toes wiggling against my belly. It's so neat to see what's going on in there at the same time I'm feeling all her movement. She was mostly curled up and did not want to be messed with so not much to see this appointment.

Invites, Holiday Cards, Announcements

Browsing invitation ideas I stumbled on this great site - minted.com - I love the details in all of their cards! They look so polished but not so cookie cutter. I only wish I had the time to design my own cards each year. These still bring a bit more personality and there's so much to choose from.

Hospital tour and updates

Wow.... hospital tour made it all the more real to us. I have no idea why we were smiling and chuckling the whole time. I think we were a bit delirious until the end of the tour. It's so exciting! Scary, but exciting. The rooms look comfy and cozy and the nurses all seemed like sweethearts.

So now David can see our little girl kicking from the outside. I don't think I've every seen his eyes get so huge. I reminded him she's just going to keep on growing and we'll see lots of those kicks through my belly.
