Father's Day Fun

I can't believe it's been a year since we found out we were pregnant! One year ago today we got a BFP and tried so hard to keep it quiet... now we get to enjoy our little Marlow on this wonderful holiday to honor all the great daddys in our lives.

We had a great time making Marlow's gifts to her grandpa's!

I can vividly remember my grandpa making these for all his grandchildren. He loved spending time outside in his garden and always had a project going outdoors. As I grew, I would visit, play in the beautiful yard and place my feet in the appropriate spot. I knew my spot because all the grandchildren had their names scrawled into the cement stone. I would stand and wiggle my toes... only to find that my feet were waaay bigger and didn't seem to fit anymore. All the grandkids would take turns trying on each other's "feet" in the stepping stones to see who might be a close fit. Eventually, I even fit into my sister's since she was older than me.

I love those memories and thought how great it would be for Marlow to try that out one day. I can imagine how surprised she will be in a few years to place her "big girl" toes where her delicate baby feet once sat.

Marlow's 3 month photos!

This girl amazes me everyday. I just wanna pinch myself at how lucky we are to have such a dream... but I'd rather pinch those chubby cheeks! I think my little girl is going to have a love affair with the camera.... she's soo my daughter.

Marlow is getting great at her head control. Those big bright eyes can follow you around the room. Next stop is mastering those hands and she's almost there. I love watching her discover new things. She recently discovered her big four legged sister Bella and she couldn't stop laughing at everything Bella would do. She smiled, cooed and finally reached out to pet Bella. My poor Bella eyed me, to see if it was okay...she loved the attention.

I can't believe how quickly Marlow is growing! (P.S.. excuse my blog appearance... I'm working on some changes)

Summer Fun!

As a kid I was a total fish. I couldn't get enough swim time. I remember asking my mom over and over if we could please go to the pool and her response was always..., "Not until it's 80 degrees". Obviously this was a long time ago. I live in the South and these days it can get 80 degrees by 9 am! Either way I used to call the weather line about every 5 minutes or so to check on the temperature until finally my mom would agree to take us. I loved swimming and so many of my childhood photos are in a bathing suit with my arms wrapped in my floaties. You can imagine my glee when in the 4th grade we moved to a house with a pool. I remember the day we moved in I jumped in with all my clothes on. I just can't wait for Marlow to have summers like I did.

Marlow got her first taste of the swimming pool this weekend. Of course these days I'm a little sun phobic and really wasn't ready for her to go all in. Armed with her sun hat my little girl got to dip her toes in!

More Baby please

Okay okay... so most people read this for the baby updates.

Marlow's 3 months!! My dream baby is still sleeping a good 10 hours at night thanks to the E.A.S.Y routine we've been following since she was 5 weeks. I love the Baby Whisperer!

She's such a sweetie. She's been gabbing away trying her best to talk and she just loves holding her hands.

This month she tried out the bumbo.

And she got rained in with mommy so we enjoyed a relaxing day in bed... ALL DAY :)

And lots of bath time with Daddy

Saving Face

If you know me.... I'm a skin junkie. I love skin care. Actually back in the day I remember getting in trouble for not returning some dermatology books to my elementary library. I mean really what were they doing with dermatology books anyway? I still recall watching my grandmother in her nighttime routine of applying all the lotions and potions and at 5 years old there I was with my Noxema mask on.

I've had such a hard time abandoning all my real deal skin care but pregnancy and nursing of course came first and it's amazing how much stuff you can't do. But I found an old friend I can still use!

IPL or photo facial rejuvenation is the best!! I recently went to get my skin scanned to view all the sun damage from my old tanning bed days and I was pleasantly surprised with my results. My skin was evaluated for spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, brown spots, red areas and bacteria using VISIA. What an experience. A close up snapshot of my skin revealed that I actually don't have issues with wrinkles... yay for anti aging creams but I did have a few dark spots from sun damage.

I opted to do the photo facial rejuvenation. I've done this before so I wasn't too worried about it but I had forgotten how great the results could be. Any mini spots are almost all gone and it helps build up your collagen too. So next time you're looking for a spa treatment with a kick (and I do mean a little kick) try it out!
